NNP specialises in the treatment and management of all neurological conditions including Stroke, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s. We also work with those with reduced mobility and strength.
Stroke
Initially Shirley’s treatment focused upon improving her balance and walking ability. Now the attention is on progressing her hand and arm function, her flexibility and overall fitness. Her husband, Don, has always been an important part of her rehabilitation.
Head Injury
Mark suffered a severe brain injury following a bike accident. He needs to relearn balance strategies and regain his right arm function in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. He has made remarkable progress and continues to strive for more.
Spinal Cord Injury
Following Anne’s car accident physiotherapy has improved her posture, strength and balance ability. The tightness and spasms in her pelvis and hips have reduced and she can walk much better over greater distances.
Multiple Sclerosis
Catherine has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis for a number of years. She is concerned with increasing the flexibility in her arms. Her physiotherapy treatment included massage, stretches and gentle electrical stimulation to ease her stiffness and gain range of movement.
Parkinson’s Disease
In common with others with Parkinson’s Peter suffers from stiffness and rigidity of movement. He needs specific work on his head, trunk, hips and ankles and guided movements in sitting and standing.
Mobility Difficulties
A neurological physiotherapy assessment will explore your mobility issues and give you expert advice about what to do to improve your situation. Specialist physiotherapy will rehabilitate your balance and movement and help you regain your confidence in all aspects of your mobility so you engage more successfully in your daily activities.
