Rehabilitation in your home

I have had this condition for some time but feel things are getting harder. I need a different approach to help me improve my situation.

Where you are right now

You have been living with your neurological condition for some time. You had a Stroke, Head Injury or Spinal Cord Injury a year or more ago or you have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s or another neurological condition for over a year now. You may have noticed some improvement and become more independent but want to achieve more. Alternatively you may be aware that some things are getting harder, your mobility has reduced and you feel unconfident in your ability.

What your issues tend to be

Your walking is unsteady, your leg may drag and feel heavy. You know your balance isn’t good and you sometimes stumble or fall. It can be difficult to get up from a chair and stairs are a real challenge. Your hand feels tight and needs stretching and you experience stiffness and pain in some of your joints. You have tried some treatments, possibly some exercise but you are really not sure what to do for the best. You feel stuck and feel that you now need a different approach or a second opinion.

What you need help with right now

You would benefit from a fresh assessment of your situation by an experienced neurological physiotherapist. An assessment will identify your individual abilities and difficulties and you will be given expert advice on the next step. You need specialist neurological physiotherapy that will work towards your aspirations.
